I’m back I think.

I don’t want this to be a fashion blog anymore although that being said I will still share shoot’s I find beautiful and inspiring. I want to write about life and what hurts and the people places and things that make my heart happy and share with you some of the music and quotes that help me get through my day.

Slave for fashion

I was scrolling through my Instagram feed as I do, and I came across this picture taken by Livincool (one of my favourite photographers) just before the Prada SS2013 show earlier.

It makes my heart sore to see some of the people who worked the hardest and most probably the longest hours sitting up in the studio watching the impeccably dressed fashion set stream into the show space.

Seeing pictures like this also make me wonder why I am still so fascinated and in love with an industry that feeds off the knowledge that there will always be someone willing to work for less or nothing all in the name of the so called “exposure” they will gain.

Summer 2012

Earlier today I attended the trend forecasting workshop which the Cape Town Fashion Council hold bi-annually. I’m not going to get too much into the trends because I’m not really the biggest trend follower. The workshop was however very informative until the speaker mentioned that it might be a good idea to pair a trapeze dress with 3/4 leggings or even a pair of 3/4 jeggings. I’m sorry, what?

Anyway according to Johann Crous if you want to be super “on trend*” this summer then these are the key pieces you should be wearing.

*Please never use the phrase on trend ever. it’s unbelievably cringe

1. Peplum anything

2. Vintage inspired dresses

Fashion Inspiration

Tumblr is what got me into blogging , I wasn’t very into fashion at the time but a few of my friends kept mentioning a site called dirtylittlestylewhoree , so eventually I checked it out . And I haven’t looked back . So in February 2009 Princess Coco was born . The theme is mostly fashion , but I sometimes throw in a quote or two sometimes even a cat picture .

Enjoy .
